The United Kingdom: buy for home, prove it arrived

The United Kingdom is home to one of the world's largest West African diasporas (Nigerian and Ghanaian communities concentrated in London and strong across Manchester, Birmingham and beyond), and it is a major origin for two trades Verifra runs: purchases sent home, and vehicles.

Honest geography

Verifra's physical network is West African and Chinese: our own agents in Nigeria and Ghana, established inspection partners in China. In the UK we maintain no offices and claim none, because the UK side of these transactions is financial and digital, not physical. You verify, fund and track from a browser in London; the evidence is generated where evidence must be generated: at the factory in Guangzhou, the yard where the car sits, the doorstep in Lagos where your mother enters a one-time code.

The diaspora purchase, done properly

The classic pattern: someone in the UK pays for goods (machinery for the family business, stock for a sibling's shop, building materials, a container of household goods) destined for Nigeria or Ghana. Historically this ran on a relative's assurances and a middleman's honesty. Through Verifra it runs on protocol: fund in pounds through licensed partners; supplier verified and goods inspected before shipment; WhatsApp updates to you and your recipient at every stage; delivery closed only by the recipient's OTP and a geotagged photo. The person paying and the person receiving both see everything, always.

The vehicle lane

UK-sourced used vehicles are West Africa's favourite import, and the UK end is where the misrepresentation happens: mileage, accident history, category writeoffs laundered into "clean" listings. Verifra's vehicle service attacks the problem at source: VIN history pulled from international databases, a physical yard inspection with photo and video before purchase, then RoRo or container freight with an itemised, validity-dated landed-cost quote covering Nigerian or Ghanaian duty, clearing and inland delivery. The deal cannot reach agreement until the history check and the quote are both acknowledged: the unpleasant surprises are moved to before you commit, where they are merely information.

Exports northbound

The UK is also a destination: Nigerian and Ghanaian agri-commodities, foods and consumer goods sell into British wholesale and diaspora retail year-round. UK buyers on that lane get the supplier-side protections our launch markets were built for: Tier B premises verification by our own agents, pre-shipment inspection against the buyer's declared specification, supervised stuffing at the Lagos or Tema end, and staged escrow that pays the exporter as evidence lands rather than months after arrival.
