Money and goods have flowed from Britain to Nigeria for generations, and two trades dominate the lane today: used vehicles, and the endless stream of purchases Britain's Nigerian diaspora makes for family, property and business back home. Both run on trust that routinely fails, which makes this the corridor where Verifra's proof-first model earns its keep most visibly.

The vehicle trade, de-fictionalised

Nigeria's roads run on UK-sourced cars, and the lane's economics attract precisely the dishonesty the protocol was built against: odometers that tell stories, insurance write-offs relisted as clean, auction photographs doing heavy cosmetic work. Verifra's vehicle service attacks the fiction at its source: VIN history pulled from international databases before commitment, a physical yard inspection with media while the car is still in Britain, RoRo or container freight with milestone tracking, and the full landed cost itemised and validity-dated before agreement. The diaspora purchase, dignified

The second trade is older and more personal: a nurse in Leeds equipping her brother's workshop, a family in London roofing a house in Enugu, a business owner capitalising a sibling's inventory. Traditionally these purchases ride on relatives' assurances and middlemen's honesty, and their failures are family wounds as much as financial ones. Groupage for the goods trade

Between the car deck and the family barrel sits a commercial middle: UK-sourced stock, equipment and building materials in one-to-twenty cubic-metre consignments. Pool mechanics serve this lane the same way they serve the China routes: shared containers with every member's funds escrowed before confirmation, one supervised loading, itemised member shares through Lagos clearing. Practicalities

Escrow and fees run in sterling; Nigerian-side collections and payouts run through licensed local providers; naira equivalents are indicative display only. UK-side purchases (auction cars, retail goods) remain the buyer's own transactions.
